The boys Class 1A District soccer tournament gets underway tonight with an area battle when the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks host Sigourney-Keota. Mid-Prairie comes into the match with an 8-7 overall record, drawing the three seed, after a 3-0 loss at Bellevue Friday. On the year, the Hawks have been outscored 26-25 with 254 shots, 118 on goal, 60 corner kicks 19 assists and 105 saves with an 80% team save percentage. Individual leaders are Tucker Miller, Daniel Rodgers, Beau Flynn and Peyton Fox with four goals each, Miller has five assists and in goal, Joe Hall has 87 saves and an 81% save percentage.

Sigourney-Keota is 1-9 this year, drawing the six seed. They dropped a match to Albia 11-1 May 3rd, where Skyler Pringle had the lone goal, Gavin Khali an assist and Wells Clark 23 saves. On the season, SK has been outscored 71-5 with 51 shots, 22 on goal, 15 corners, five assists and 176 saves with a 71% team save percentage. Individual leaders are Jackson Vittetoe with two goals, Khali with three assists and in goal, Clark has 170 saves with a 71% save percentage. These teams have only met once all-time with Mid-Prairie taking a 12-0 win in 2022. The winner of this contest advances in Class 1A District 7 to face second seeded Hillcrest Academy Monday. Action starts tonight at 5p.m. in Wellman.
