Lone Tree residents are reminded that the City’s Clean Up Day is Saturday, May 18.

From 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Johnson County Refuse will be at the west end parking lot in North Park. Residents within city limits that pay for garbage/recycling on their utility bill may bring their unwanted items to the drop site at no charge. Exceptions include household appliances, which cost $10 each, TV and computer monitors, which are also $10 each, and residential tires, which will be accepted at $5 per tire.

Prohibited items include items from businesses, construction debris, paint or toxic waste, commercial appliances, used oil, household garbage, yard waste, car or truck batteries, and bulk recycling material. Toxic items may be disposed of at the Iowa City Landfill by appointment.

Senior citizens in Lone Tree that do not have the transportation to get their items to the drop site can call City Hall at 319-629-4615 before Wednesday to make arrangements to pick up items at their home on Friday.
