A trip to the Class 1A State Golf Tournament is on the line today at Heritage Oaks near Wapello when four KCII area boys teams join the district field.

The Hillcrest Academy Ravens take the course today, looking for back-to-back State bids. The defending 1A State Champs won their sectional at Lynnville last week with a team score of 313, led by sectional champion Rowan Miller with his two-under-par 70. This year, the Ravens have a team 355 average per 18 with a 313 low. Individual leaders include, Miller with an 18 hole average of 77. Liam Schrock is next at 83 and Seth Ours at 88.

The Keota Eagles were team sectional champs at Central City with their score 339. Sawyer Stout shot an 80 to finish as sectional runner-up and lead the Eagles. This season, the Eagles have a 336 average per 18 with a 325 low. Stout and Cole Kindred lead the team with 81 and 82 averages on 18. The Eagles are ranked in No. 3 in Class 1A in the latest poll from the Iowa Golf Coaches Association. Individually, Cole Kindred is ranked No. 16, Stout No. 18, Brennan McGuire No. 44, Billie Kindred No. 53, Tanner Waterhouse No. 62 and Conner Strand No. 90.

Sigourney was also a sectional champion with their team score of 339 at North Cedar. Solon Yates was sectional runner-up with his score of 80. On the year, the Savages have a team average 339 on 18 with a 331 low. Individually, Yates is the leader with a 79 average per 18.Next up are Ike Molyneux and Cain Weber at 87 and 88 respectively. The Savages are ranked No. 6 in Class 1A in the latest poll from the Iowa Golf Coaches Association. Individually, Yates is ranked No. 10, Weber No. 58, Molyneux No. 64, Carter Wyatt No. 85 and Isaac Bruns No. 97.

Winfield-Mt. Union got through sectionals as a team runner-up in New London with their score of 346. Carter Loyd, Justin Knipfer and Cody Milks all shot 86. Statistically, the Wolves have a 354 average on 18 with a 346 low. Individually, Loyd’s 86 average is best for 18 holes. WMU is ranked No. 18 in the latest Class 1A poll. Individually, Loyd is ranked No. 37, Konner Kinneberg No. 80, Knipfer No. 83, Milks No. 93.

Joining this group of four today are BGM, Easton Valley, No. 8 English Valleys, and No. 10 HLV. There are 22 golfers ranked in the top 100 of Class 1A in this field. Action starts at 10a.m. And continues all day Tuesday in Wapello.
