The Highland Huskies had their boys’ soccer season draw to a close with a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Marquette Catholic last night in Riverside during the first round of the Class 1A Substate 5 playoffs.

Highland fell behind 3-0 by halftime, and while junior Jared Diaz would score his 13th goal of the season to get them on the board, the Huskies would not be able to pull off a comeback.

The season ends for Highland with a record of 5-10, their most wins in a single season since 2015. The Huskies will be losing seniors Stella Slaymaker, Jack Peiffer, Remington Fields and Luke Guseman to graduation.
