The City of Brighton would like to remind residents that the annual Clean Up Day is Tuesday, May 21. Trash and other items will be picked up on the curb, just like a normal collection day.
Acceptable items include general household waste, furniture, bulky items such as boxes, crates, and cabinets, construction debris, and carpeting that is cut to four-foot lengths and properly bundled. Construction debris must not exceed five feet, and cannot have any exposed nails. Small items should be placed in a bag or container.
Items that will be prohibited on the Clean Up Day include electronic devices, tires, auto parts, batteries, fluorescent lights, appliances, yard waste, liquid waste, hazardous or chemical waste, concrete, and railroad ties.
For more information on the Clean Up Day, visit the City of Brighton website. With questions, contact waste management at 1-800-964-8988.
