Eichelberger Farms announced last week its plans to construct an Agricultural Science Center for the WACO Ag program and FFA Chapter.

This facility, which will be on the High School campus in Wayland, will feature two classrooms, two locker rooms, a kitchen, specialized rooms for rabbits, poultry and swine, pens for other large animals, and a greenhouse. A conference room will allow for meetings with community partners including guest speakers, land lab partners, and volunteers to train FFA teams.

The Ag program at WACO was revived in 2021 when the school hired Ethan Fetzer as the Agriculture Instructor and FFA Advisor. Since then, enrollment in the program has grown to 135 students. Plans are to start construction on the Agricultural Science Center in the fall of 2024 or spring of 2025.
