The City of Kalona is holding its Spring Clean Up Day on Saturday, May 25 and encourages all residents to review the restrictions.

From 8-11 a.m. Saturday, participants in the Clean Up Day can drop items off at the West Parking Lot in Kalona City Park. This includes glass, plastics, scrap metal, mattresses, appliances, and electronics. Electronics start at $10 and appliances start at $15 or more, depending on size. All other items will be priced based on the item’s size and weight on the day of the event.

Prohibited items are yard waste, cardboard, tires, oil, roofing or building materials, railroad ties, light bulbs, hazardous material, and lead acid batteries.
