The Washington Demons suffered their first loss of the 2024 baseball season Thursday night in an 11-2 defeat at Muscatine. Junior Aaron Boone hit a lead-off single and senior Caleb Zieglowsky would drive him home with a double to give Washington the initial lead in the top of the first inning, but Muscatine countered with three runs in the bottom half and would be in front the rest of the night.
The Demons would score one more time in the fourth when sophomore Caden Greiner drew a walk and was brought home by an RBI base hit from junior Luke Schiebel, but that would be all the offense they could muster. Meanwhile, the Muskies scored in every inning but the second and the seventh as Washington fails to add to its season-opening victory against Highland.
