As the WACO school year came to a close last week, so too did the tenure of Secondary Principal, Tim Bartels. Bartels will be transitioning to the Mid-Prairie Community School District for the 2024-25 academic year as the new Middle School Principal.

Bartels has served WACO Schools since 2018. Recent highlights of his time with the District include earning the TEAM Award from the Iowa State Education Association last year, and WACO High School receiving a “Best High School” rating in April from US. News. In a post on the WACO High Facebook Page, Bartels thanked the students, teachers, staff, and the WACO community. He cited being able to spend more time around his family as one reason for the move. 

With Bartels leaving the District, the search begins for a new WACO Secondary Principal. The position was posted on iowaworks.gov last week.
