To the delight of many, the new Keota Aquatic Center has officially opened for the 2024 season. Opening day of the pool’s first full season was Saturday, May 25.
Construction on the Keota Aquatic Center wrapped up late last summer, allowing just a few days for residents to check it out. Now, with a full summer ahead, all will be able to use its numerous features including a zipline, diving board, and splashpad.
Keota City Administrator, Alycia Horras, was grateful to those who were able to make this project a reality, and tells KCII that all are welcome this summer. “This is something that has been in the making for several years and we have some very dedicated residents that this would not be a reality without them. Just very thankful to everyone that has helped or fundraised. Just very thankful to everyone and we just want to welcome any and all to come and check it out.”
The pool schedule Monday through Friday will be lap swim and water aerobics from noon to 1 p.m., open swim from 1-5 p.m., water aerobics from 5-6 p.m., and open swim from 6-8 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays open swim will be from 1-6 p.m.
