The Washington Demons started conference softball action this season by sweeping a doubleheader at Mount Pleasant last night. Washington won Game One 13-0 in four innings, jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the second and never looking back.

Juniors Bella Salazar and Alyiva Anderson each had two hits and two RBI, while junior Kendall Hinrichsen joined Leighton Salazar with at least two hits, two runs scored and one run batted in. Bella Salazar allowed only one hit and one walk in four innings pitched while piling up seven strikeouts.

Washington was just as good in Game Two, leading 8-0 after two innings of play and needing only four frames to secure a 13-1 win. Leighton Salazar had another three hits, including a double, as well as another three runs scored and two RBI.

Greiner drove in four on a double and a single, while senior Rylee Libe had a three-hit game and scored twice. Hinrichsen and senior Emery Walton each added two hits and two RBI, while Greiner allowed two hits and three walks but no earned runs while also striking out five in the circle.
