The Washington Demons finish up a conference baseball series tonight against their long-time rivals from Mount Pleasant, and you can hear all the action on KCII. Washington fell in both games of a doubleheader at Mount Pleasant Tuesday night, losing 4-1 in Game One before suffering a 13-12 defeat in extra innings in Game Two.

Despite those losses and a 1-4 start to the season overall, plenty has gone right for the Demons. Sophomore Kael Williams had three hits and scored four runs in Game Two at Mount Pleasant, part of a start to the season where he has team highs of five hits, six runs scored and six stolen bases.

Senior Caleb Zieglowsky and sophomore Caden Greiner each have five hits and three runs batted in for the middle of the Washington lineup, while senior Luke Beenblossom snapped his 0-for-10 start to the season with a three-hit game against the Panthers that included a double, two RBI and scoring twice.

Washington will be trying to defeat a Mount Pleasant team that has begun the season by winning five of their first seven games and erasing a seven-run deficit in the seventh inning of Game Two Tuesday to force extras.

You can catch the series finale of the rivalry battle between the Demons and the Panthers this evening on 106.1 FM KCII and streaming on the KCII app and KCIIradio.com, beginning with the Roder Epoxy Pregame Show at 7 o’clock.
