A Bonaparte man was charged with felony operating under the influence following a single-vehicle incident in Henry County this week.
On Wednesday, May 29, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single-vehicle accident. An investigation into the situation determined that the vehicle was traveling westbound in the 1200-grid of Salem Road south of Mt. Pleasant. The driver and sole occupant, identified as 33-year-old Trevor Schneider of Bonaparte, swerved from hitting a deer and ran off the road into an unoccupied house.
Schneider was charged with operating while under the influence-third offense, a class D felony. He was also given a citation for failure to maintain control. Schneider denied medical attention at the scene.
