Southeast Iowa residents are advised that landline phone service should be restored after statewide outages were experienced earlier this week.

On Thursday, city and law enforcement officials from Jefferson, Keokuk, and Henry counties in the KCII listening area reported that some landline phones may not be able to complete calls, including 9-1-1 calls. Homes impacted varied between locations. According to officials, a water line break at Lumen Technologies, a key telecommunications company, caused the issues which affected communities across the State.

Iowans are recommended to have a mobile device to make emergency calls in the event that a similar situation arises in the future.
