The Columbus Wildcats suffered a pair of conference losses on the softball diamond to end last week, losing 9-1 Thursday at Louisa-Muscatine before falling 12-2 in six innings Friday at Wapello.
Against L&M, freshman Ellie Sanders led the Columbus lineup with three hits, while junior Aracely Garza had a run batted in by bringing home sophomore Jessica Del Rio for the Wildcats’ only tally. Sanders had another two hits and scored a run against Wapello, while Kennedy Woepking had two hits and one RBI.
Fellow sophomore Daniela Diaz stroked a double and scored once for Columbus, which falls to 2-6 overall and 2-2 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North. Up next for the Wildcats is a road game at West Burlington Notre Dame tonight.
