The City of West Chester is holding its Clean Up Day this week.
The program, which is provided by BTS, LLC will serve residential properties only on Friday, June 7. Each residence is limited to 250 pounds of trash, and items must be placed at the curbside by 7 a.m. Friday. Residences will be billed $12 per household for this service on their July 1 utility bill.
Acceptable items include old furniture, toys, carpeting, lamps, storm windows and doors. Wood products should be clean and may have nails and small bolts up to ½ inch in diameter. Metal doors, storm windows, bicycles, and swing sets will be accepted, but no woven wire. All appliances will need a sticker issued by the City for $20. Car and light truck tires are also okay, but also require a City-issued sticker. Tires without the rim are $7 and tires with the rim are $9.
Restricted items include large amounts of vegetation, hazardous waste, ammunition and explosives, asbestos, anti-freeze, farm chemicals, batteries, motor oil, propane tanks, latex paint, cement bricks, brush, burn barrel ashes and debris.
Questions about the West Chester Clean Up Day may be directed to any council member, the mayor, or the clerk.
