A pair of KCII area teams will play two tonight in Riverside when the Highland Huskies host the Hillcrest Academy Ravens for a Southeast Iowa Superconference baseball and softball twin-bill. The Highland softball team is 3-4 on the season, 2-2 in the Superconference after a 7-5 loss to Van Buren in Riverside Wednesday. This year the Huskies are hitting .225 as a team with a .346OBP and .333 slug with 38 runs on 29 hits, 20 walks and 44 strikeouts. Payton Brun is hitting .545 to lead the way. She, Mackenzie Davis, Lilly Barre and Sarah Burton all have six hits. Burton and Barre have scored eight runs each and Abigail Pierson has five RBI. In the circle, the Huskies team ERA is 1.91, with a .218 opponent average, on 31 hits, 10 earned runs, seven walks and 36Ks. Grace Prybil is 3-2 with a 1.42ERA.

Hillcrest is 3-4 on the year, 3-3 in conference after a 12-3 Thursday loss to Wapello. On the season, they hit .346 as a team with a .524OBP and .481 slug, with 55 runs on 36 hits, 39 walks and 37 strikeouts. Individual leaders include Malia Yoder with an eye-popping .692 average on nine hits with 10RBI. She and Stavia Miller have each scored eight times. Yoder leads the way the in the circle, throwing all innings for Hillcrest with a 4.77ERA, 1.55 WHIP and .198 opponent average. The Huskies have won 33 of the last 34 over the Ravens, including 22 straight, with the last Hillcrest victory coming in 2011.

The Raven boys are 5-1 on the year and 4-1 in league after battering Wapello Thursday 14-3. Hillcrest is hitting .281 as a team with a .446OBP and .351 slug with 53 runs on 48 hits, 43 walks and 46 strikeouts. Individually, Rowan Miller is batting .556 with a team best 10 hits. Seth Ours has a team best 10 runs scored and eight driven in. On the mound, the Raven team ERA is 2.03 with a .242 opponent average on 40 hits, 12 earned runs, 11 walks and 36 strikeouts. Ours is 2-1 with a 2.69 ERA. Phoenix Anderson has a team best 19Ks. He, Liam Schrock and Miller are all 1-0 this year.

Highland is 4-7 this season. They were surprised Thursday by Winfield-Mt. Union 6-4. On the year, the Huskies hit .198 as a team with a .371OBP and .229 slug, with 44 runs on 51 hits, 52 walks and 102 strikeouts. Individual leaders are William Dunbar at .320 with a team best eight hits and six runs scored. Ryker Miller is best with eight RBI. On the mound, the Highland team ERA is 6.01 with a .280 opponent average on 83 hits, 59 earned runs, 62 walks and 65 strikeouts. Landon Roling, Caleb Wheeler and Colten Sypherd have worked a combined 22 innings with a 2.50ERA. These teams have evenly split their last 28 meetings dating back to 2010, with Hillcrest taking both matchups last year by 12-0 and 10-4 scores.
