The Keota Aquatic Center is just a few weeks into its first full season since being constructed last year. Anyone who hasn’t had the chance to check it out has the opportunity this Thursday, thanks to Kalona Realty Inc.

The real estate agency is sponsoring a free swim day on Thursday, June 13 with open swim from 1-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Alycia Horas, Keota City Administrator, shared some of the amenities at the aquatic center with KCII. “The splash pad itself has kind of a farm theme. So we have some really neat features that are big farm animals that the kids can actually sit on. They do squirt water. We have of course the buckets that pour down on you. We have our standard diving board, basketball hoop, but we have an AquaZip which is a zipline that the kids can actually hold onto the rope and swing out and drop into the pool.” Plans are to add a rock wall to the aquatic center later this season.

The Keota Aquatic Center is located on the south end of town near the corner of East Park Avenue and South Fulton Street.
