Mid-Prairie standout Brock Harland has been recognized this summer by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association. Harland, a senior on this year’s Golden Hawk baseball team, has been named to the IAHSBCA Senior All-Star Watch List as a pitcher. On the mound, he has made three appearances, all starts, with a 2-1 record in 11 innings with a 3.71ERA, allowing 12 hits, six earned runs, four walks and striking out 17 with an opponent average of .261. Harland has done terrific work behind the plate, throwing out 33% of would-be-basestealers, third highest in 2A, and posting a 98% fielding percentage from the catchers spot. He holds a .300 average at the plate with a .478OBP, with 10 total hits, including a double and 13RBI, 10th most in 2A with 10 walks. Nominations for the All-Star series are due to the State Coaches Association Sunday. The All-Star Series will be played in Pella August first through the third.
