The Washington County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday. On the agenda was the discussion and possible action regarding membership to the Iowa Travel Industry Partners organization. Washington Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Michelle Redlinger was there to give more information, “We were here a few weeks ago discussing the ways that ITIP partners with our local tourism efforts, and they help us achieve a greater statewide mission, as well as assist in, training, funding, promotion of Washington County. The funding for the region that our area, the storied and scenic area Southeast Iowa, has received is over thirty-four million dollars.” After discussion about what the membership would entail, the Supervisors approved joining the ITIP organization with a three to two vote.
