The Hillcrest Academy Raven baseball team finished a regular season sweep of their rivals Lone Tree Tuesday by a 10-5 score. It was the Lions that found board first with a single run in their opening at bat. Hillcrest tied it with a run in the third, then jumped on top with another in the fourth, five more in the fifth and three more in the sixth to lead 10-1. A late Lion rally would plate four in the bottom of the sixth.
The Ravens out hit the Lions 9-7, six of those hits for extra bases. Each team got a homer, Liam Schrock connected for a solo shot for Hillcrest, part of a three hit, three run day. Ethan Bockelman belted a grand slam for the Lions, finishing with four RBI and a run scored. Lawson Schrock had three RBI for Hillcrest on two hits, Mason Bender drove in two on a hit with four runs and Rowan Miller added an RBI on a hit. Jack Patterson drove in one for Lone Tree on a hit. Miller got the win on the hill for Hillcrest, going the distance, giving up six hits, five earned runs, three walks and striking out seven. Patterson took the loss for Lone Tree, working five and a third with seven hits, four earned runs, three walks and four punchouts. The Ravens move to 11-2 after the win as Lone Tree drops to 4-9.
