The Hillcrest Academy Raven baseball and softball teams take a bus trip to Wapello tonight to face-off with the Indians and Arrows. The Raven boys are 13-3 overall this season and 7-1 leaders of the North Division of the Southeast Iowa Superconference. They beat Van Buren Monday 8-3. This season, the Ravens are hitting .290 as a group with a .424OBP and .389 slug, scoring 139 runs on 131 hits, 88 walks and 111 strikeouts. Individually, five Ravens are hitting .300 or better, led by Rowan Miller at .435 and 20RBI. He and Liam Schrock each have 20 hits this summer, Schrock has scored 23 times. On the mound the Hillcrest staff ERA is 3.09 with a .220 opponent average on 90 hits, 46 earned runs, 35 walks and 88 strikeouts. Seth Ours is the team leader at 4-1 with a 2.69ERA. Liam and Lawson Schrock and Miller are 8-0 together with a three ERA.

Wapello is 3-15 this year, 1-8 in the Superconference after an 11-1 loss to Winfield-Mt. Union Tuesday. This year, the Indians are hitting .236 as a team with a .311OBP and .284 slug with 58 runs on 100 hits, 35 walks and 173 strikeouts. Matthew Helscher leads with a .405 average and 15 total hits with nine RBI. Rowen Atkinson has scored 10 times this year. On the mound, the Wapello staff ERA is 8.80 with a .287 opponent average on 173 hits, 132 earned runs, 95 walks and 89 strikeouts. Helscher, Wyatt Marlette and Cooper Thomas all have a win this year with a collective six ERA. The Ravens have won a dozen straight in the series.

The Hillcrest girls are in the middle of a three game winning streak to run their record to 10-10 on the year, 6-5 in the Superconference, following a 5-2 victory at Holy Trinity earlier this week. Hillcrest is hitting .303 as a team with a .415OBP and .416 slug, scoring 152 runs on 152 hits with 88 walks and 143 strikeouts. Three Ravens are hitting .400 or better led by Malia Yoder at .574 with 35 total hits, 28 runs scored and 27RBI. Delaney Shaw has a .422 average and Claire Withrow is right at .400. Yoder also leads in the circle with a 10-9 record, .191 opponent average on 105 hits, 56 earned runs, 70 walks and 147Ks with a 3.71ERA.

Wapello is 14-13 this year, 8-4 in the Superconference North. They have wins this week over Danville and Winfield-Mt. Union. On the year, the Arrows are hitting .281 as a team with a .409OBP and .351 slug with 167 runs on 178 hits, 124 walks and 165 strikeouts. Ada Boysen is the leader at .429 with 33 total hits and 29 RBI. Mya Wagner has scored 26 runs. In the circle, Boysen is 13-8 with a .174 opponent average on 80 hits, 31 earned runs, 21 walks and 226 strikeouts with a 1.76ERA. Wapello has won 18 in a row over the Ravens, with the last Hillcrest win coming in 2013. Baseball and Softball are both scheduled for a 5:30 first pitch Thursday on Senior Night at the Wapello Athletic Complex.
