Thursday night the Hillcrest Academy Raven baseball team visited Wapello for the Indian’s Senior Night, but it was the Ravens who would hold the celebration, scoring a 19-5 win in six innings. Hillcrest got a single run in the first, and saw Wapello jump out to a lead after plating five in the third. From there, the Ravens found another gear and the Indians couldn’t keep up. Hillcrest scored seven in the fourth, four in the fifth and another seven in the sixth to end things early.

The Ravens out hit the Indians 8-5. Hillcrest took advantage of 15 walks, four errors, and three hit batters gifted by Wapello. Seth Ours brought the lumber, driving in five on two hits and scoring three times. Phoenix Anderson, Rowan Miller, Mason Helmuth and Mason Bender all had two RBI. Miller did his damage on three hits with a run scored. Liam Schrock, Lawson Schrock and Micah Gerber each had an RBI. Those three also each scored three times. Anderson and Lincoln Miller came home twice each. Anderson was the winner on the bump, working all six with five hits, four earned runs, four walks and three strikeouts. The victory moves Hillcrest to 14-3 on the year and keeps them on top of the Southeast Iowa Superconference North standings at 8-1. The Ravens are back on the diamond tonight when they host Highland.
