Fair season is already underway in southeast Iowa as the Greater Jefferson County Fair wraps up this weekend.

The last five days have seen non-stop animal shows, live performances, food, and games at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Fairfield. Residents and guests of the area are encouraged to stop by, with two full days of fun still remaining.

Today’s activities feature all-day yard games and a corn pit, motocross track race, petting zoo, candy cruise, family bingo, ag olympics, and quad races. Sunday, June 30 is highlighted by Crash the Clunkers in the evening followed by fireworks at the Grandstand. Of course, each day also includes local youth showing their animals and/or projects, a tractor show, and plenty of vendors.
