The Iowa Board of Educational Examiners has found probable cause that three Mid-Prairie administrators violated the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics.

The administrators named include former Special Education Director Amy Shalla, former Middle School Principal Rob Hruby, and current Superintendent Brian Stone. Stone had his contract extended for two more years with the District last month.

Three alleged violations are listed on Shalla’s, Hruby’s, and Stone’s respective licenses. These are: delegating tasks to unqualified personnel, failure to adjust an assignment if a teacher discloses he or she is not properly licensed for an assignment, and failure to protect the safety of staff and students. Documents indicate a hearing to be held on this matter, but no date has been made public.

Mid-Prairie’s School Board met in a closed session Monday night for a superintendent evaluation. A release from the Board states that there is no substantive basis for the findings and that they will continue to support Stone during the legal process. KCII will have more information as it becomes official.
