The Washington City Council met on Tuesday evening. On the agenda was a recognition of a Police Department promotion. Washington Police Chief Jim Lester gave the recognition, “Promoted Investigator VanWilligen to Sergeant effective on June 22nd. He’s done a great job the last five years as our investigator, looking forward to having him as part of our command staff.” VanWilligen has been with the Washington Police Department for nineteen years and for thirty years in the service.
