Residents of the City of Washington will soon select who will fill the At-Large vacancy on the Washington City Council. . This is the second special election in 2024, with the vacant Washington Mayoral seat won by Millie Youngquist in March.. The person elected will fill the rest of the Council term that expires in December 2027. The special election will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. All residents may cast a ballot in this election. The deadline to file nomination paperwork is 5:00 p.m. on July 12, 2024. Twenty-five signatures of eligible electors who are residents of the City are needed on the nomination papers, and an affidavit of candidacy must be filed with each set of nomination papers. Forms are available at City Hall, Washington County Auditor’s Office and the Secretary of State’s website.
