The Hillcrest Academy Raven softball team gets the 1A regional tournament underway tonight when they travel to Wapello to meet the Arrows. Hillcrest is 12-13 on the season after a 20-6 loss to North Mahaska Friday night in Kalona. Hillcrest hits .306 as a team, with a .415OBP and .412 slug with 179 runs on 179 hits and 100 walks. Four Ravens hit .300 or better, led by Malia Yoder at .569 with 41 total hits, 32 runs scored and 31RBI. Delaney Shaw, Claire Withrow and Erin Bontrager are also over .300. In the circle, Yoder is 11-10 with a .206 opponent average, giving up 136 hits, 72 earned runs and 164 strikeouts with a 4.04ERA.

Wapello is 17-13 on the season. They have won five-in-a-row entering the tournament including a 10-1 win over Lone Tree Wednesday. The Arrows hit .288 as a team with a .414OBP and .363 slug, scoring 194 runs on 205 hits with 137 walks and 182 strikeouts. Ada Boysen leads with a .425 average on 37 total hits with 36 driven in. Mya Wagner has scored a team high 29 runs. In the circle, Boysen is 16-8 with a .173 opponent average, giving up 91 hits, 33 earned runs, striking out 261 with a 1.63ERA. Wapello has won 19 straight in this series, including sweeping both regular season meetings this year by a combined 18-3 score. Action starts tonight at 7p.m. at the Wapello Athletic Complex.
