The City of Sigourney has begun the search for its new Deputy City Clerk and applications are being accepted for the next three weeks.
The open position comes ahead of Sigourney City Clerk Angela Alderson’s retirement in November. Alderson has been training Deputy City Clerk Ashley Fry to fill the role, so the hope is to have Fry’s replacement before the full transition.
Primary responsibilities for the Deputy City Clerk include utility billing, payroll, monthly financials, backing up the City Clerk, assisting customers, answering the phone, filing, typing correspondence, and researching projects. Applicants should have good public relation skills and are expected to be experienced with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Applications for the Sigourney Deputy City Clerk position are now available and due to the City Clerk’s Office by 4 p.m. on Monday, July 29. With questions, contact the City at 641-622-3080.
