The Washington County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday. On the agenda was the review of bids for the grading project on Dogwood Avenue. Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius gave more information and made his recommendation, “I’m inclined to recommend to the board that we award the contract to the low bidder, and we work with him to try and hold them off until we pick a date. And try and make this work, and if phase two contractor really wants to start work sooner, then we sit down at the table with all three parties and we try and work something out.” The Supervisors approved the bid from Cornerstone Excavating Inc and Thorius will begin the discussion with the contractor for phase one and phase two after the contract is signed.
