At the end of May, the State of Iowa became free from drought for the first time in four years. After continued bouts of rain throughout the summer, these conditions have persisted.

The U.S. Drought Mitigation Center rates drought on a scale ranging from D1, or moderate drought, to D4, exceptional drought. As of Thursday, a small portion of Clinton and Scott counties was classified as D0, or abnormally dry. More than 99 percent of the State, including the entirety of the KCII listening area had no drought conditions to report.
