When student-athletes return to Keota Junior/Senior High School this year, they will find some new equipment in the weight room, thanks to a grant from the Keokuk County Community Endowment Foundation.

The Keota Athletic Boosters were the recipient of $5,000 from the Foundation to replace the weights in the weight room. The school acquired the weights earlier this month. The Keota CSD has been the beneficiary of awards like this in the past. In 2008, grant funding helped build concrete walkways and bleacher pads at the baseball and softball complex.

The Keokuk County Community Endowment Foundation works to foster private giving, strengthen service providers, and improve the condition of the communities within the County. In 2023, they awarded more than $137,000 to fund 24 projects.
