The WACO Warriors made some strides in the second season of their varsity soccer program, and after going 5-8 this spring, five players walked away with all-conference honors in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.

That included senior goalkeeper Colton Leichty being a first-team selection. Leichty made over 100 saves and stopped over 80 percent of the shots he faced, and the senior also stepped outside the box to come up with five goals scored.

Junior Joel Meyer was named to the second team after helping WACO hold opponents to just under two goals per game and scoring once himself. Sophomore Tristan Luitjens had six goals and a team-high 10 assists and also received second-team honors.

Honorable mentions went to sophomore Niles Reichenbach and juniors Keiran Luitjens and Ella Huisenga, who helped the Warriors to a 4-4 record in conference play.
