The next generation of golfers hit the course in Kalona earlier this month for the Kalona Optimist Junior Golf Camp, held the week of July 8th at the Kalona Golf Course. For four days, youngsters worked on putting, short game and their swings under the direction of Mid-Prairie head girls golf coach Tracy McArtor, head boys golf coach Kelby Bender, current Golden Hawk varsity golfers, former coaches and club members. The final day of camp featured a tournament for all participants. More than 50 local kids attended this year’s event.
