Three Highland Husky girls’ golfers added to their excellent spring seasons by earning all-district honors in Class 1A Region 5 from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.

That trio includes senior Kelsi Cerny, who made the state tournament for a second straight season after leading Highland with a low average 18-hole score of just over 94 strokes.

Adisyn Prottsman also makes all-district and had the lowest scores of the season for the Huskies, averaging a round of just over 89 per 18 holes and just over 50 in nine-hole competition.

Prottsman also led the team at the state tournament with rounds of 18-over-par 90 and 14-over 85. Fellow all-district sophomore Emersyn Schultz averaged a score of 52-and-a-half per nine hole and joined Cerny and Prottsman in having top-50 total scores individually at state.

Highland’s all-district players were big reasons why the Huskies finished third in the state in Class 1A, winning the Southeast Iowa Super Conference and a regional championship along the way to making state for the first time in school history.
