Plenty of summer projects are underway in the Lone Tree Community School District.

In what has already been a busy few months, the District is in the process of installing a new HVAC system in the school’s south gym. The rooftop units have been placed on the top of the building with next steps to include connecting gas lines and installing the fabric duct. The flower bed in front of the main entrance has been removed, and will be replaced with a new retaining wall and mulch after the lion statue is centered. Additional projects in the works at Lone Tree Schools are updating their networking and PA system, resurfacing the track, and installing a new key fob system.

Lone Tree Superintendent Tyler Hotz spoke with KCII about the need for many of these projects, and how they’re being funded. “There’s just a lot of changes that people are gonna probably notice when they come back next fall. A lot of those things are things that need to be done and we are fortunate to have utilized some of our ESSER funding from COVID dollars. We’re utilizing a safety grant, so it’s not all coming from the district budget. We’re utilizing multiple resources to address some things that need to be done.”
