The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team turns the first page on a new season today when they start summer camp. The varsity team will meet at Tim Grady Gymnasium, today through Thursday, from 8:30-11a.m. daily, to start preparation for the upcoming year. The Hawks will work on techniques and fundamentals in both drill and game settings. Instruction is provided by the Golden Hawk coaching staff, led by Iowa Girls Coaches Association and multi-time River Valley Coach of the Year, head coach Sherry Evans, and two-time All-American Libero Jaedynn Evans. The Golden Hawks finished last season with a school record 31 wins and their first conference title since 2002.

Last month, third through eighth grade players met for camp June 19th and 20th with instruction from the Mid-Prairie coaching staff and varsity players. The Golden Hawk varsity team has scrimmages August 21st at Wilton and August 22nd at Grinnell before officially opening the year August 29th with a tournament at Pella.
