Recently released data from the Iowa Hospital Association underscores the significant impact WCHC has on the county’s economic landscape. The Iowa Hospital Association’s comprehensive report utilizes data from the American Hospital Association to evaluate the economic footprint of healthcare institutions across Iowa. This year’s findings highlight WCHCs pivotal role in driving economic growth, attributing an impressive $81.5 million impact over the past year. Key components of WCHCs economic influence include 597 total direct and indirect jobs tied to hospital operations and $38.5 million in direct worker compensation and income tied to hospital operations.  At a recent Board of Trustees meeting, it was resolved to maintain the tax rate at $1 per $1,000 valuation—a rate unchanged for 21 consecutive years.
