The YMCA of Washington County was selected for a $5,000 Ripple Effect economic development grant. The grant, made possible by a sponsorship and in-kind match from KCTC, is funded by Aureon and will support the construction of the 12,440-square-foot addition to the YMCA facility. A state-of-the-art indoor aquatic center will be the main feature of the new addition, which will replace the community’s 100-year-old pool and ensure continued access to vital aquatic programs for residents of all ages and abilities. It will include a six-lane competition-ready lap pool and an accessible recreational pool with an all-inclusive design. The new pool will be built to meet the latest safety standards and offer features that promote inclusivity. The addition of two separate pools will allow for more programs to run simultaneously, serving a larger number of community members. Construction of the new facility is underway, with a projected completion date of September 2024.
