Two of the top hitters for Highland softball this season have received postseason honors. Senior Peyton Brun and junior Lilly Barre have been named All-Southeast District in Class 1A by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.

Brun finished off an excellent career with the Huskies with a strong final season, posting a team-high .458 batting average, nine doubles, two home runs, 27 runs scored and 29 runs batted in.

Barre was an all-around force at the plate, hitting .366 while also coming up with eight doubles, three triples and two homers. The junior scored 32 times and also stole 16 bases, while Brun added 15 steals for a Highland team that went 19-9 and reached the Class 1A Region 8 semifinals.
