At their Tuesday meeting, the Washington County Board of Supervisors heard the quarterly report from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Sergeant Bill Fiordelise gave the report, “Just to bring to your attention, last quarter, we turned over about twenty-four thousand, which is a little lower than what we normally cover. This quarter was almost thirty-seven, but we got backed up on some of the things that were coming into us. We had some increase in work release, and service fees were the biggest change there, and some of that has slowed down a little bit.” The Supervisors acknowledged the quarterly report. After being asked about contracted inmates in the jail from other counties Fiordelise stated that there are thirty inmates currently in the jail that are from Polk County.
