The Highland Huskies put together a strong softball campaign with 19 wins and a second-place finish in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference, and they ended up with the second-most all-conference choices in the league with nine.

Among that pack is Grace Prybil, who had a dominant season in the circle on her way to being named a first-team pitcher. The senior had a 15-4 record, a 1.29 earned-run average and over 100 strikeouts while also allowing a batting average of under .200 to her opponents.

Fellow senior Sarah Burton had another excellent season that earns her a first-team nod as an infielder, putting up a .438 batting average while also racking up team highs of 39 total hits, 48 runs scored and 35 stolen bases and also coming up with nine doubles, two triples and four home runs.

Peyton Brun is also a first-team infielder after posting team highs of a .458 average and 29 runs batted in while also swatting nine doubles and two homers. Fellow Highland senior Madison Beeson is a first-team utility player after hitting .309 and compiling a .994 fielding percentage at catcher.

Sophomore Mackenzie Davis is a first-team outfielder after batting .278 with five doubles and 18 RBI. Junior Lilly Barre had a huge summer at the plate, hitting .366 with eight doubles, three triples, two home runs and 32 runs scored, on her way to second-team honors as a infielder.

Eighth-grader Maya Singbeil was a breakout star for the Huskies, batting .371 with three doubles and three triples while scoring 18 runs and driving in another 16 on her way to making it as a a second-team utility player. Honorable mentions also go to senior Courtney Chalupa and eighth-grader Kamryn Fink.

The WACO Warriors also had a pair of honorable mentions on the All-Super Conference North squad. One goes to freshman Natalie Wagler, who led WACO in hits, batting average and runs scored, while the other goes to Rhiannon Horn, the Warriors’ lone senior.
