After a summer of baseball and softball, the Keota Eagles are coming up with some all-conference honors in the South Iowa Cedar League. That includes four players who receive all-conference accolades for Keota baseball.
In that quartet is senior Cole Kindred who is a first-team selection as a utility player. Kindred had a .338 batting average, four doubles, four home runs, 25 runs batted in, 21 runs scored and 19 stolen bases, but he was also an excellent pitcher with a team-best 2.10 earned-run average and 40 strikeouts.
Fellow senior Tanner Waterhouse makes the first team as an infielder after hitting a team-high .419 and scoring a team-high 22 runs. Waterhouse also piled up a team-best 22 stolen bases.
Honorable mentions for the Eagles go to senior Evan Vittetoe and eighth-grader Blake Baker. Keota softball ends up with two honorable mention all-conference selections in sophomores Kennedy Jackson and Addy Purkeypile.
