Landon Beinhart, son of Nick and Holly Beinhart, instructs his Clover Kid mentee Marilynn Greiner before the Clover Kid Rabbit show.

Washington County Clover Kid first and second graders had their time to show on Thursday, July 18 at the Clover Kids Rabbit Show. Washington County 4-H Clover Kids had the opportunity to learn more about the rabbit project through a special mentoring program which then gives them their very own County Fair Rabbit Class. Interested 1st and 2nd grade Clover Kids were paired with older 4-H rabbit project members. The Clover Kids and mentors met prior to the show. This meeting allowed the 4-H mentor to teach the Clover Kid about caring for rabbits and how to show them. Many of the Clover Kids learned about feeding, showing, and proper handling of the rabbits. During the Washington County Fair Clover Kid Rabbit show, the Clover Kids had the opportunity to show one of their mentor’s rabbits. The partnership of the Clover Kids and the 4-H mentors has resulted in a renewed excitement of the rabbit project, new friendships, and a wealth of learning.
