The Washington County Board of Supervisors discussed including an option for the public to decide to designate Emergency Medical Services (EMS) as an essential service on the November ballot. Supervisor Marcus Fedler shared his thoughts during Tuesday’s meeting on including EMS as an essential service, “That’s the reason why I would be in favor of putting this on the ballot, so that the public can make the determination on whether or not they think it is essential or not. It’s a good way I think to disseminate that money, and it also creates a trust fund. So that’s the other part that I like about this the way this is written, it has to be used for EMS stuff, cannot be used for anything else.” The Supervisors approved adding the issue to the ballot in November.
