The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team takes the next step toward the start of their season tonight when they travel to Wilton for a set of scrimmages. The Golden Hawks are coming off of a River Valley Conference South Division Championship in 2023, their first title since 2002 and a school record 31 wins, while spending the entire year ranked in the top 15 of Class 3A by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. The Hawks return All-RVC performers Dakota Mitchell, Jovi Evans, Callie Huber and Harper Pacha. Mitchell was last year’s RVC Player of the Year. She, Evans and Pacha were All-District and All-State selections. Head coach Sherry Evans was last year’s River Valley Conference and Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-Southeast District Coach of the Year.

The Hawks will be joined tonight by Camanche, Iowa City Regina, Bellevue, Lisbon and the home Beavers. Action starts at 4p.m. and continues into the evening at Wilton High School.
