The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team continued their ramp up toward the new season with a set of scrimmages at Wilton Wednesday night. Mid-Prairie didn’t drop any of their four contests on the night, scoring wins over Camanche, Lisbon and the home Beavers, while tying Iowa City Regina. Their win over Wilton came by a 26-24 total and they beat the Lions 30-24. Following action, Mid-Prairie head coach Sherry Evans talked with KCII Sports about what she saw from her team and personnel that stood out.

Evans said, “I love how our girls play as a group. I like how they are very flexible when we add in different things. We have been able to incorporate that next girl in. We definitely need to work on our communication. Everything else, hitter/setter connections and those things are all going to come. We have an amazing serve/receive. Dakota (Mitchell) of course, and Jovi (Evans), Jeorgia (Evans), Lanee (Duwa), solid back row. Callie (Huber), again in the middle up front, is phenomenal. I really love seeing how Brylee Gearhart is coming on. Katelyn Harland is so exciting for us too, and Harper Pacha. We don’t have a bad rotation!”

Thursday, the Golden Hawks hit the road for another set of scrimmages in Grinnell where they will see North Mahaska, North Tama, Pella, Knoxville, Bondurant-Farrar and the home Tigers.
