Local football teams are only one week away from kicking off the new season, but before the real thing, many will take part in intrasquad scrimmages tonight to get some live action against a jersey of a different color.

That includes in 8-player football, where the Winfield-Mount Union Wolves will host Midland for a scrimmage this evening. The Lone Tree Lions held their preseason scrimmage last week against BGM.

In Class A, the Columbus Wildcats will face Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. Meanwhile, in Class 1A, the Sigourney-Keota Cobras will head out on the road for a scrimmage at Davis County.
