The WACO Warriors are preparing to start a new season of high school volleyball and will be relying on a host of new faces. A large senior class that has since graduated contributed to last year’s 18 wins, five of which came inside conference play.
One of the most experienced returning players is senior Ally Rinner, who had 71 kills and 34 blocked shots at middle blocker last season. Senior Ella Huisenga also flashed some skill at the net with 53 kills and nine blocks in 2023.
Brenna Graber will be asked to play a bigger role for WACO this season after putting up 35 kills, 120 digs and five blocks in part-time varsity action as a freshman. Senior Peyton Graber will be one of the leaders of the Warriors’ defense, putting up 77 digs as a specialist but also contributing to the attack with 12 serving aces.
WACO gets the season underway by hosting their annual season-opening tournament Monday in Wayland. The Warriors will have matches against Pekin, Centerville and Van Buren County.
