The Sigourney Savages are coming off back-to-back strong volleyball seasons and hoping for more in 2024. Sigourney followed up 23 wins two seasons ago by going 17-9 last year and reaching a Class 1A regional semifinal.

While many starters have since graduated, there are still some impact players returning from the 2023 roster. That includes senior hitters Reagan Clarahan, who was a force at the net last year with 134 kills and a whopping 53 blocked shots.

Middle blocker McKinley Chittick is also back after putting up 77 kills and 22 blocks as a junior, while fellow senior Taylor Rozeboom returns at setter after handing out nearly 200 assists and collecting 16 serving aces and over 100 digs last season.

Senior Josephine Moore is the top returning outside hitter, piling up 117 kills, 27 aces and over 270 digs last year. The Savages will start the new volleyball season tonight at the WACO Tournament, playing matches against Columbus, Louisa-Muscatine and Burlington Notre Dame in Wayland.
